Mauch Chunk Museum is located at 41 West Broadway, historic Downtown Jim Thorpe. Enter this exceptional museum knowing that you’ll depart with a feeling of amazement, amusement, enlightenment, and satisfaction! So much is here, including a comprehensive collection of Mauch Chunk history and an impressive display featuring Jim Thorpe the Man. See an actual working model of the famed Switchback Railroad, and fascinating Canal Lock Models. A nice gift shop is here for your browsing pleasure and memento purchases. Housed in the oldest church building in Carbon County, there is also a remarkably beautiful ballroom upstairs, available for rental for distinctive and memorable weddings, reunions, business presentations, and gatherings of all types.
